The best thing the Internet does is grow! It's gone from dodgy dial up to super fast, fibre optic broadband in a matter of a few years. Out and about?! No problem, stay connected via Wifi. A few years ago if you said googliness or video blogging or tweets to somebody, they would have more than likely looked at you like you were speaking a language from outer space! Now? They are part of our culture due to our constant connection to the web. But as more and more pupils grow up with constant access to technology and in particular the Internet, they can lose/never gain a perspective on what it means to actually be safe online, or how to tell if an online source is trustworthy, or how to effectively and efficiently find information on the web. That's why our S1 course begins with Welcome to the Web, a fantastic and fun online resource that teaches pupils all about the Internet without them even realising via exciting challenges and activities. Fancy yourself as the next Sherlock Holmes? Well at the end of Welcome to the Web there is a challenge so dastardly and tricky, that it's beaten a number of brilliant minds before, including our very own Mr Wilson! So click on the spider (web, get it?) below and enjoy!
