N5 C.S
Computing science is
vital to everyday life – socially, technologically and economically; it shapes
the world in which we live and its future.
Computing is embedded in the world around us, from systems and devices in
our homes and places of work, to how we access education, entertainment,
transportation and communication. At
Gryffe, our N5 computing science course is wide-ranging: from programming
software systems, to the design and evaluation of human - computer interfaces,
algorithms and information retrieval and storage systems. We aim to deliver our courses in the most
effective way fit for the 21st century pupil and use tools such as
Edmodo, Scholar and Prezi to deliver materials electronically which allows
pupils to develop ownership of their
own learning and enable them to progress with confidence.

Higher C.S
In Higher Computing Science, we aim to build
on N5 knowledge gained by pupils to introduce learners to an advanced range of
computational processes and thinking.
Pupils aim to develop a rigorous approach to the design and development
process across a variety of contemporary computing contexts. Learners gain an
awareness of the importance that computing professionals play in meeting the
needs of society today and for the future, in fields which include science,
education, business and industry. We aim to deliver our courses in the
most effective way fit for the 21st century pupil and use tools such
as Edmodo, Scholar and Prezi to deliver materials electronically which allows
pupils to develop ownership of their
own learning and enable them to progress with confidence.
